Villa de Branciforte (Santa Cruz) (1797)

The third and last Spanish secular pueblo (founded 1797 by Gov. Borica), across the San Lorenzo River from Mission Santa Cruz. Unlike San José and Los Ángeles, its pueblo lands were never cleanly confirmed or surveyed by the U.S., so it is shown here as a point at the villa site rather than a boundary.
